The Minist\u00e8re de l\u2019\u00c9ducation et de l\u2019Enseignement sup\u00e9rieur (Ministry of Education and Higher Education, MEES) has selected 17 school settings to be part of the trial rollout phase of the Biblius platform. During the 2020\u20132021 academic year, these school services centres will be testing out access to a centralized e-book collection.<\/p>\r\n

The choice of settings was made based on\u00a0a set of criteria<\/a> designed to ensure a representative sample of the diversity of Qu\u00e9bec school settings. Note that it is not entire school service centres, but only selected schools in those centres, that are taking part in the trial rollout phase (see table below).<\/p>\r\n

Besides testing technical aspects, the trial is also designed to document practices in the use of e-books for teaching purposes. To that end, each person in charge is asked to collaborate with various school staff members in their setting (e.g., teachers, counsellors, special-needs teachers) on specific pedagogical projects<\/a>. These projects may involve a single group, a grade, or the entire school.<\/p>\r\n

The data collected, covering technology, legal, library-science and pedagogical aspects, will be essential to improving the platform and its contents, guiding future developments and preparing the full rollout to all settings.<\/p>\r\n
