Finding a name and logo for a school library e-book lending a platform was no mean feat. To properly represent the project, we needed to find a name that was both original and evocative, and craft a visual identity that would appeal both to students and school staff. The idea of holding a competition among students was explored, but calendar constraints unfortunately meant that this worthy concept couldn’t be implemented.
In the spring of 2019, Bibliopresto asked school librarians across Québec to weigh in. Several dozen ideas were submitted. They included literary references, variations on the theme of the online school library, and several Latin words. Eventually, these three elements in combination led to the choice of name and logo for the platform.
